Sara Maldonado is the CEO of Professional Women Rising, LLC. She has launched and managed several professional development programs across the country.
At Center for Powerful Public Schools, she founded the Associate Board to give young
professionals a space to become the future nonprofit leaders of the nation. She also cultivated media and nonprofit partnerships to raise the eminence of the organization.
Previously, she worked at the DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB), where she
overhauled the agency’s brand and image within the education community in Washington, DC. She also worked closely with Human Resources to rebuild the culture at the organization to be more inclusive of people of all backgrounds.
Prior to DC PCSB, Ms. Maldonado worked at the National Hispana Leadership institute as the Marketing and Alumnae Relations Specialist where she helped create a pipeline for Latina leaders to reach top-level executive positions through leadership programming and digital engagement. She managed the Executive Leadership Program and the Latinas Learning to Lead program and nurtured relationships for the organization with program alumnae from across the country, including Puerto Rico.
Ms. Maldonado has also worked for national event firms and international NGOs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from The New School and is currently pursuing a Master in Communication Management at the University of Southern California.
